First Gathering.
A three hour facilitated session to begin your Professional Growth Cycle.

Ongoing Gatherings.
Three further two hour sessions across the year, confidential discussion, reflection and mentoring.

Annual Endorsement.
Receive your endorsement regarding your ability to meet the Professional Standards.

What is a Professional Growth Cycle (PGC)?

A Professional Growth Cycle is the ongoing cycle of goal setting, reflection and evidence gathering that registered ECE teachers and leaders use for professional standards endorsement. Astute Education's PGC Network gives Centre Managers and Centre Leaders dedicated, facilitated time and support to work through their own cycle.

Who needs to complete a Professional Growth Cycle in NZ?

Registered ECE teachers, Centre Managers and Centre Leaders across New Zealand need to engage in a Professional Growth Cycle as part of meeting the Professional Standards each year. The PGC Network is designed specifically for those in Centre Manager and Centre Leader roles.

What does PGC Network membership include?

Membership includes four facilitated face to face meetings a year, the first three hours and the remaining three two hours each, a PGC booklet to track your leadership journey, confidential discussion and mentoring, and an annual endorsement regarding your ability to meet the Professional Standards.

How much does the PGC Network cost?

The PGC Network is $237.50 per gathering.

Is the PGC Network available outside Hamilton?

The PGC Network launched in Hamilton in July 2026 and is expanding to Auckland shortly. Auckland expressions of interest are open now, and enquiries from other regions are welcome.

Does the PGC Network count toward my annual endorsement?

Yes. Membership includes an annual endorsement regarding the Centre Manager or Centre Leader's ability to meet the Professional Standards, provided as part of the programme.
